Welcome to my little writer app! It's nothing fancy, but it also isn't a boring text editor. Here are some things you should know:

All the controls you should need are in the menu where you accessed this help page! There's an option to set the background video to a YouTube video of your choosing, and you can hide the video or mute it if you wish. If you hide the video, you'll also have the option to set the background color as well! I have the original video set to autoplay, but most modern browsers are picky about allowing a webpage to autoplay videos with audio, so if it doesn't play right away, just click the "Play video" button!

Text goes in the big box in the middle. It's set to autosave whatever's written there to your browser's localStorage, so if you close out and come back later, it'll be there waiting for you! If you set a name for your document and click the "Save document" button, your document will save to the browser and you'll be able to load it again through the dropdown menu. Note that any changes you make after hitting the save button will save to the default autosave, but will not save to the document itself until you hit the save button again!

If you'd like to download a copy of your writing to your computer, you can set a name for your document and click the "Download .txt" button. You can also upload .txt files into the writer using the file picker. Note that any writing you load into the writer will overwrite whatever is in the box and will autosave!
